Outdoor TV Mounting · A Field Guide for DFW Homeowners

Outdoor TV Mounting.
Plan first.
Drill once.

Anyone can hang a TV outside. We help homeowners avoid expensive outdoor installation mistakes before the first hole is drilled. That's the difference between mounting a TV and planning an installation.

Your exact price is confirmed before install day.

01 / Planning

More than
a TV mount

A patio is not a living room. Eight things change every decision we make, from the anchor to the viewing angle.

Weather exposure Covered or open sky determines the TV, the mount, and the sealing method.
Viewing angles Patio seating spreads wide. Placement has to work from every chair.
Sun glare We map the sun through the day, so the screen works at kickoff, not just after dark.
Proper hardware Indoor lag bolts corrode outside. Weather-rated fasteners, every time.
Moisture Water finds shortcuts. Every hole gets sealed.
Electrical GFCI protection and weather-rated boxes, planned in, not after.
Mount selection Fixed, tilt, or articulating, depending on seating, sun, and surface.
Surface type Brick, stone, stucco, and siding each anchor differently.

02 / Process

Decisions first.
Execution second.

Our Precision Process, adapted for outdoors. The first three steps happen before a single hole is drilled.

Site evaluation

We check surface, sun, seating, and power before we recommend anything.

Mount selection

Matched to your TV, your wall, and how you'll actually watch.

Placement consultation

Height and angle set together, at your space, before we drill.

Weather-conscious installation

Weather-rated anchors, every hole sealed, hardware chosen for exposure.

Cable & power management

Wires hidden, power routed safely, GFCI where code calls for it.

Final leveling

Leveled to within 0.1°. It's in the name.

Final walkthrough

You check every angle with us before we call it done.

Same standard as every install. See the full Precision Process →

03 / Hardware

Built for outdoor conditions

The parts you never see are the reason the install lasts. Every item on this sheet is backed by our Lifetime No-Fall Guarantee.

Fasteners Stainless and coated, weather-rated. Indoor bolts corrode outside, so we never use them there.
Anchors Corrosion-resistant, matched to brick, stone, or framing, rated for exterior use.
Sealing Every hole through your wall is sealed against moisture. No exceptions.
Boxes & covers Outdoor-rated mounts, electrical boxes, and covers, chosen for exposure.
Attachment Into stud, masonry, or steel framing. Never into siding alone.
Recommendation The mount your space needs, not what's on the truck.

Customer-supplied mount installed, or ask us to source the right one at the scope call.

04 / The TV

Choosing the right outdoor TV

Not a buying guide. A straight answer before you spend anything.

An outdoor TV is brighter, sealed against moisture, and rated for Texas heat, cold, humidity, and UV. Brightness matters more than resolution outside: a screen that looks great in the showroom can wash out at 4 pm on a west-facing patio.

If covered

Under a deep covered patio, a quality indoor TV can survive. It's a knowing compromise on brightness and lifespan, and we'll tell you exactly what you're trading.

If exposed

Rain, heat, and UV all day. Outdoor-rated only. Nothing else holds up, and nothing else gets our name on it.

We'll happily install whatever TV you choose. We'll also give you honest guidance before installation.

05 / Power & Sound

Two upgrades worth knowing about

Every outdoor space is different, so we price yours in the quote.

Power outlet relocation

A weather-rated, GFCI-protected outlet placed directly behind the TV. No cords crossing the wall, no extension cords, fully code-compliant. Recommended when the nearest outlet is far from the mount or unprotected.

Result · Power exactly where the TV needs it

Soundbar integration

One integrated mounting system carries the TV and soundbar together. Cleaner appearance, perfect alignment, and they move as one on articulating mounts. A more premium finish than a shelf or separate bracket.

Result · Sound that follows the screen

More on soundbars: soundbar installation.

06 / The Mistakes

What goes wrong, and how we prevent it

We're not trying to scare you. These are just the calls we get in August.

An indoor TV in full exposure We tell you before you buy, not after it fails.
Mounted too high Placement is set from your actual seating, together, before we drill.
Sun position ignored We map glare across the day and plan the wall accordingly.
Indoor hardware outside Weather-rated fasteners and anchors on every outdoor install.
No weather sealing Every hole is sealed. It's a step, not an option.
Wrong anchors for the surface Anchor selection is matched to brick, stone, stucco, or framing.
No GFCI protection We verify protection, and install it where it's missing.
Placement planned from one seat Angles are checked from every seat on the walkthrough.

Every one of these is avoidable with proper planning.

08 / FAQ

Questions we hear on every walkthrough

Can you mount a TV on brick or stone?

Yes. Masonry is one of our most common outdoor surfaces. Corrosion-resistant anchors rated for the TV's weight, and every hole sealed.

Should I buy an outdoor TV, or can I use an indoor one?

Under a deep covered patio, an indoor TV can work, with tradeoffs in brightness and lifespan. In any exposed location, buy outdoor-rated. We'll give you a straight answer before you spend anything.

Can you hide the wires outside?

Yes. Conduit, in-wall routing, or weather-rated raceway, depending on the wall. No draped cords.

Do I need a GFCI outlet?

Outdoors, yes. Code requires it, and it protects your TV. If you don't have one, we can install it as part of the project.

Can you mount under a patio ceiling?

Yes. Overhead mounts are common for outdoor kitchens and pergolas. Structure and hardware get the same weather-rated treatment.

Will you install a TV I already own?

Yes. We'll happily install whatever TV you choose, and we'll tell you honestly how it will hold up in your space first.
